I think San Fransisco is doing a great job of innovative thinking.

Here in NJ our communities have leaf and brush pick up several times a year, but that cuts out on grass clippings and food scraps. I think all states should model their efforts after San Fransisco. Think of the amount of landfill space we would save and by composting all that green matter, it could get put back into the community by offering it to homeowners for their yards.

Our township delivers Free Leaf Compost and shredded mulch made from brush and branches. Great stuff!

We have our own compost, but I'm afraid most do not. This would get people to do what is necessary if it was made available and mandated by the localities.
